Grand Junction, Colorado, is home to a variety of parks that cater to outdoor enthusiasts, families, and nature lovers alike. As a Grand Junction Family Photographer I’m always on the lookout for a gorgeous location for photos. Here are some of the top parks you shouldn’t miss:
Las Colonias Park
Situated along the banks of the Colorado River, Las Colonias Park provides a picturesque setting for different activities. Visitors can enjoy walking and biking trails. There is a dog park to enjoy and also an amphitheater that hosts concerts and events. The park’s location makes it perfect for paddleboarding and kayaking enthusiasts.
Western Colorado Botanical Gardens
The botanical gardens are just on the edge of town. These gardens feature a tropical rainforest greenhouse, a butterfly house, and various themed gardens. It’s a beautiful spot to learn about native and exotic plant species.
Regardless of which park you visit, remember the following:
- Bring Water- Grand Junction is dry and gets very hot in the summer
- Pack Sunscreen
- Bring a Map- if you venture onto the trails be prepared to find your way around
- Pack a Snack
Whether you’re seeking adventure, relaxation, or a family-friendly outing, Grand Junction’s variety of parks offer something for everyone. All of these parks offer breathtaking landscapes for your family’s next portrait session. Book your family photos here!
