The Family Experience
I want the process of taking family photos to be FUN! The only way to capture true family portraits is to create a safe, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere where you can all interact naturally. The outcome is authentic portraits. By filling out my questionnaire, and getting to know each other leading up to your photoshoot we can create that atmosphere! I try create poses that match the personality of my subjects so they feel unforced and comfortable. My goal is for you to see your families personality in the finished product, not just their faces!

There is nothing more important than family and I can't wait to capture yours! Before you book a session I would love to take the time to get to know you, understand your expectations, answer any questions you may have and guide you through this process!
1. Say Hello
A paid session fee and signed agreement are required to secure your session. Your session is not reserved until these are complete. Upon booking, I will add your date to my calendar.
I try to schedule outdoor family sessions in the last two hours of daylight during the week and Saturday's. This will vary depending on the time of year and the weather but I will communicate throughout the process so that we have the flexibility to find the perfect time for you. Indoor family photoshoots have much more flexibility and take place Monday through Friday after 4:30pm.
2. Schedule it
I have a variety of colors, backdrops and props to capture the look that you are looking for. As you are decorating your home and reserving a spot on the wall for your artwork please make notes of your colors and we can plan on creating the perfect accent to compliment your home.
If you are planning an outdoor shoot I am happy to choose a spot for you based on the colors that you are looking for. I do ask that if you are choosing the location to give me the address before the photoshoot so I can go and scout out specific locations that will look well and get fabulous lighting.
3. Planning it
Your and your family will be positioned in both formal and candid poses. I like to feel out the personality of the family and reflect those personalities with specific poses. Your family photos should be specific to YOU and reflect what makes you and your family special.
You can expect a family photoshoot to last up to 2 hours and include group, individual and smaller group photos (kids only, parents only etc.). If there are any props, furniture, or special items that you would like to include please let me know and I incorporate them to the best of my ability!
4. Your Session
Within one week of your photoshoot I will send you a proofed gallery. This simply means that you will see all of the available photos that you can choose from. This gallery will be un-edited and low resolution just to select your favorites.
After choosing your favorites, you will select and pay for a digital package.
Once you have paid for your digital package I will fully edit the images your chose. I strive to get these finished images within one week but may take up to two weeks. This gallery will be send to you through your email address!
5. Your Photographs
