An urban setting can offer so many different opportunities for great portraits, especially in a small town like Grand Junction. The Senior Experience
I want the process of taking family photos to be FUN! The only way to capture true family portraits is to create a safe, relaxing and comfortable atmosphere where you can all interact naturally. The outcome is authentic portraits. By filling out my questionnaire, and getting to know each other leading up to your photoshoot we can create that atmosphere! I try create poses that match the personality of my subjects so they feel unforced and comfortable. My goal is for you to see your families personality in the finished product, not just their faces!

Every senior portrait session starts with a conversation about your style, your interests, and what you want these photos to say about this chapter of your life. Sessions take place in my studio here in Fruita — a comfortable, unhurried space where there's time for a couple of outfit changes and no need to rush. I keep my calendar to just 3-4 sessions a month, so you get my full attention from the moment you book through the moment your gallery is ready.
1. Say Hello
A paid session fee and signed agreement are required to secure your session. Your session is not reserved until these are complete. Upon booking, I will add your date to my calendar.
I try to schedule outdoor senior sessions in the last two hours of daylight during the week and Saturday's. This will vary depending on the time of year and the weather but I will communicate throughout the process so that we have the flexibility to find the perfect time for you. Indoor family photoshoots have much more flexibility and take place Monday through Friday after 5:30pm.
2. Schedule it
A little planning makes session day easy:
Outfits: Bring 2-3 options — a casual and a dressier look both work well.
Personal touches: Instruments, sports gear, a letterman jacket, or anything tied to your interests makes the gallery feel like you.
Location: I'm always happy to recommend spots, but the best outdoor sessions come from a location that speaks to your own style and personality — start there, and we'll build the rest around it.
3. Planning it
Your senior will be positioned in both formal and candid poses. I like to feel out the personality of who I am capturing and reflect those personalities with specific poses. Your child's photos should be specific to them and their personality.
You can expect a senior photoshoot to last up to 2 hours. If there are any props, furniture, or special items that you would like to include please let me know and I incorporate them to the best of my ability!
4. Your Session
Within one week of your photoshoot I will send you a proofed gallery. This simply means that you will see all of the available photos that you can choose from. This gallery will be un-edited and low resolution just to select your favorites.
After choosing your favorites, you will select and pay for a digital package.
Once you have paid for your digital package I will fully edit the images your chose. I strive to get these finished images within one week but may take up to two weeks. This gallery will be send to you through your email address!
5. Your Photographs
